CHANGES IN LEGISLATION

The environment agency has reviewed its policy on the disposal of waste containing gypsum to landfill, this is due to the fact that when gypsum is mixed with biodegradable waste it produces odorous and toxic hydrogen sulphide gas. In order to further reduce the impact of this waste the 10% tolerance has been withdrawn as from the 1st April 2009.

Our responsibility as a company is to continue to recycle as much waste as possible and use designated recycling centres, the materials from this then go back into the industry.
